Partty Peace Animals Every Character Knows Its Own Story Some artistic worlds begin with a plan. Partty Peace Animals began by playing. One character led to another. A facial expression, an emoji, a song or an absurd idea could suddenly open a new direction. There was no fully defined universe waiting to be revealed. It emerged gradually through the act of making. Today, Partty Peace Animals is a constantly growing visual world populated by intensely colourful, playful, absurd and sometimes slightly unsettling characters, created through illustration, digital collage, AI-supported research and spontaneous image-making. Look at them quickly and they might make you smile. Look again and things become less certain. Large eyes stare back. Teeth appear through exaggerated grins. Peace signs collide with strange expressions. A character may seem happy, friendly and completely overwhelmed at exactly the same time. Is it laughing? Grinning? Screaming? Perhaps all three. That uncertainty matters. “The characters are allowed to be funny, sad, beautiful, cute or strange. They can be all of these things at once.” Anything can happen At the heart of Partty Peace Animals lies a simple principle: “The most important thing is having fun. Rather than controlling every outcome, the process leaves enough room for the work to answer back. “The project needs space to surprise itself.” That freedom does not mean that anything is arbitrary. Behind the apparent nonsense are visual decisions. Ideas can be absurd, silly or even deliberately stupid, but the distinction between playful nonsense and thoughtlessness remains important. The grimacing face and the peace hand combine positive energy with tension, joy with overwhelm, friendliness with a hint of irritation. Contradictions coexist. And they are allowed to stay that way. The teeth themselves have become one of the world's recurring signatures. Some characters clench them while grinning. Others open their mouths as though laughing and screaming simultaneously. A smile stops being entirely reassuring. The character becomes harder to define. And therefore more interesting. Peace without pretending everything is fine Peace is embedded in the project's name and repeatedly appears through signs, gestures, words, music and the characters themselves. But peace is not simply decoration. At times, references to war enter the work through selected music, song titles or texts, deliberately creating friction with the colourful, playful surface. The intention is not to make war aesthetically appealing. Quite the opposite: the contrast serves as a reminder of how terrible, absurd and destructive it is. Something can appear funny and harmless at first glance while leaving behind a more uncomfortable thought. Partty Peace Animals makes room for both. A world without a fixed explanation Music, emojis and community interactions continually add new layers. Before posting an illustration, music is selected intuitively. A song may reinforce an image, contradict it or unexpectedly create an entirely different story. Emojis have become another language altogether. People respond, combine them, invent new sequences and create small stories of their own. The audience is not simply looking into this universe; sometimes it begins playing with it. And there is deliberately no definitive interpretation. Some people laugh. Some feel slightly uncomfortable. Some search for deeper meaning. Others simply wonder: What is that? All of those reactions are welcome. “Sometimes the question is more exciting than the answer.” When Partty Peace Animals Met Deerbie Until its encounter with Deerbie, Partty Peace Animals had mainly existed as a digital visual world. The collaboration offered something entirely different: a body. The objective was never simply to decorate an existing Deerbie. Two recognisable visual worlds were meant to meet and create a new figure together. The characteristic pink fur was created digitally and adapted to Deerbie's three-dimensional form using adhesive film. Eyes and mouths originating from previous Partty Peace Animals works were tested in different combinations. Coloured spots added depth and vibrancy before the completed surface was sealed with clear lacquer. Transferring a two-dimensional fur structure onto curves, edges and recesses introduced imperfections that simply do not exist on a screen. But some were allowed to remain. The overlaps, transitions and irregularities reveal the hand behind the object and give the character another kind of vitality. Most importantly, neither identity was meant to disappear. The Deerbie silhouette remains. Partty Peace Animals brings the fur, colour, eyes, teeth, expressions, peace symbols ; and another emotional layer. The result is not simply a Deerbie wearing Partty Peace Animals. It is a new character born somewhere between the two. “Sometimes a new world begins when two unfamiliar figures start playing together.” The world remains open Partty Peace Animals continues to evolve towards physical objects, figures, animation, installations and new collaborations, without wanting to decide too early what the project must ultimately become. Perhaps defining it completely would defeat the purpose.
